How Do I Purchase Nervos CKB and Lock in the Nervos Ecosystem for Staking Rewards?

USA Investors - Coinbase and KuCoin

In the United States, certain exchanges are blocked and you are unable to leverage them. Examples include: Binance, Bybit, and a host of others. In addition, you have no option to purchase Nervos CKB on Binance.US.

In this post, I am going to show you how to purchase Bitcoin with Coinbase and use KuCoin exchange to Drop Nervos CKB in your Neuron Wallet and then stake for Rewards.

NOTE: I chose KuCoin over Changelly because there are no minimums. In Changelly, 0.0015 is the minimum to exchange or roughly 90.00.

Let’s get Started by purchasing some Bitcoin as shown below.

Now that we own some Bitcoin, let’s transfer those assets to KuCoin. First, we need to grab the deposit address in KuCoin.

Open KuCoin and select Deposit.

Type BTC and copy the Bitcoin deposit address.

Next, send the funds from Coinbase to the KuCoin BTC address as shown below:

Click Continue and Send Now.

Transaction can take up to 30 minutes to appear in KuCoin.

Now that funds have appeared in KuCoin, we need to transfer those funds from the Main Account to the Trading Account.

Follow the process below:

Next, select Trading Account and choose Trade (choose any trade pair).

Enter your trading password for security.

Select the Trade pair you chose to spot trade and type CKB.

Next, select the trade pair CKB/BTC.

If you are buying a large amount of CKB, use a limit order. Since I am only purchasing 25.00, I’ll select a Market order and Buy CKB.

I now own CKB (Whoop Whoop).

Let’s now transfer the funds (CKB) back to the Main account and withdraw to the Neuron Wallet.

Click Confirm and select Main account.

Let’s now get our Deposit address from the Neuron Wallet.

Enter the CKB address and select Max to send total amount.

Click Confirm and Confirm Withdrawal.

Next, I have to enter a lot of information. I setup a lot of security in KuCoin :-)

Click Submit and we will wait for our funds to appear in Neuron Wallet.

NOTE: Your funds will not appear until your node is 100% synced.

Now it is time to lock the funds in the Nervos Dao to take advantage of the 2.86% annual staking rewards. I put together an animated GIF below showing you the steps.
